We've come a long way We've come a long way
By Vince401
I've never been asked or had the question proposed to me "how did this website start" And really I'm sure not many people out there care anyways. But to certain staff members namely one. Being Shade who technically is the oldest staff member despite the fact a baby with all it's limbs missing could make a better Rm2k game. It's important so here you go.

I started up the site a little over a year ago on a lame Geocities server. Everyone called it Geoshitties and really the only reason I used it was because I couldn't get homestead to host my rtp littered rm2k game which at the time was the most advanced and wonderful thing to me in the world. Probably because I'd never played any other games. And so I started up geocities and after puzzling for awhile about what an FTP was I began working. The site grew slowly and I really only used it to tell people in my uo guild strangely enough titled Brotherhood Of Britannia (so to answer some questions I'M NOT BRITISH).

I found two people that could work on the site with me. Fargo and Zane both talented in nothing really but they knew stuff and so I let them join. Yeah I know that last line contradicts itself but I'm a contradicting guy. And so I constructed the green Brotherhood Logo you see at the top of the webpage and that's just about the only thing I didn't kill off when we got the new site.

Finally one day one of our members named Ron said it on the forums and it was obviously true. "The guild is dead." And so I cancelled my UO account and gave it to a friend. The site died as fast as I expected as we had barely hit 2000 hits in the 3/4 of a year we'd been alive. It was quaint had 4 resources and a game and is still up if I'm correct. All our affiliates but one was dead and it was really just a mess.

And so the site sat there and I got bored. Come March I figured what the hell and I bought myself a domain and a meek 30mb of space not sure what I planned to do. Maybe create the rm2k site I'd always dreamed of but never had. And so I went to work Shade joined up quickly and then for a little while nothing happened. I made a layout that looked a lot like our old site except with frames which I'd always wanted. And so we opened up and.....nobody cared. Big Surprise. And so we sat around for a long time getting help from Rainsoft and it's webmaster. One day the webmaster proposed to me that I try to affiliate with GGZ. So we both signed up and surprisingly I made it.

This place is in no way an expert veteran site and it's actually still growing so if you're impressed you haven't seen nothing yet. Anf if you're not impressed screw you I probably don't like you anyways :). And thats about it. We're slowly increasing and one by one I got my staff which are some of the most talented people I know. And now you've heard my boring and worthless story so enjoy!
